Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated Trainee Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate should have basic technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced IT support environment. ITIL certification is Preferrable, ensuring the candidate understands incident management and service management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and basic network issues.
• Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
• Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access management.
• Log incidents and service requests in the ticketing system as per ITIL guidelines.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams when required.
• Maintain inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
• Support remote and on-site users for daily IT issues.
• Follow defined IT policies, procedures, and service-level standards.
Requirements Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• ITIL Foundation Certification (Preferrable).
• Basic understanding of:
Windows OS (7/10/11)
MS Office & productivity tools
Active Directory basics
Network fundamentals (LAN, DHCP, DNS, IP)
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Willingness to work in shifts if required
Preferred Skills:
• Exposure to ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Fresh service.
• Knowledge of antivirus tools, patch management, and system updates.
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell/Shell) is an added advantage.
